"Suprise 40th Birthday Party !" - Karin Paulse - PROTEA HOTEL - Saldanha

To keep a surprise from Karin was an huge achievement and she really don't expect a thing.  Her husband Elmondo told her that he is taking her out for dinner at the Protea Hotel. All the guests was already waiting at the Titanic for them to arrive.  Karin's husband invite them all via sms. Our coordinator Anthea and Karin are very close friends and what better person to ask to do this 40th birthday.  Anthea decide to do a colour scheme in orange and cherise pink.  Colourful just like Karin.   Hip, modern and funky but not to over the top with a touch of class.  The beautiful cotton balls above the buffet and bar area just add coulor and ambiance to the hall which roof was covered in almost 3000 little fairylights.  Anthea add a few colourful chinese umbrella's on the buffet and in the fireplace combining with white ratten lanterns.
The birthday cake made by D'lightful Cakes was a delicious chocolate mouse cake and Anthea made mini bunting flags to put on top saying "Happy 40th Birthday" It look just adorable.
CONGRATULATIONS Karin may you be blessed with another 40 and more !

Wedding Invitations - Be-dazzled Stationary

Wedding invites are something really personal.  It is the first impression you will give your guests of what to expect from your wedding.  The style, type of paper, the printing, colour scheme and the wording must fit in with your wedding.
Their is a huge amount of different invites available to choose from but you must decide on a colour and a theme and sometimes this will effect the cost of the invites.  To do invites yourself is not necessarily cheaper.

Invitations are normally send out 6 to 8 weeks before the wedding or function.  Put aside 3 months before the wedding date to discuss it with your suppliers or artist to design.  Keep in mind that with high days and holidays to let your guests know far in advance of the wedding.  We will suggest 4 to 5 months and follow it up with a reminder so that guests wouldn't forget about this important happening.

Before you go to a supplier or design artist for your invitations their is important information to take with.  The total of invitations you will need, who is inviting the guests, the date, time, place where the ceremony will took place as well as the reception.  You don't have to send for every individual guest an invitation but you will have to remember that guests older than 18 years have to receive their own.

The wording of an invitation are very important and your designer will be able to assist with this.

You never put on your invitation:
  • Regret no children are invited  -
  • Cash Bar Available -
  • Cash instead of gifts
  • Gift Vouchers
  • Admit --- total of guests
Other stationary that you can consider are:
  • RSVP Cards
  • Maps
  • Accommodation information
  • Programs
  • Seating plan
  • Escort Cards or tags
  • Thank You Cards
  • Order of service

ASSUPOL - Netball Tournament - LONGACRES WINE ESTATE, LANGEBAAN

The Long acres Wine Estate is one of the few venue's on the West Coast that can accommodate huge groups of people.  The Assupol Netball Tournament Awards evening were held here last week in a colour theme of black, purple and pink.  The new damask embossed tablecloths just enhance the decor beautifully.  The centrepieces were alternated with an arrangements in a mushroom vases, lida vases and a few tables have a 5 arm candelabra.  The purple lisianthus  and the two tone lilac gerbera 's just tied everything together.

THEMED MOVIE CENTREPIECES - 30TH BIRTHDAY PARTY AT PATERNOSTER LODGE

What an awesome challenge it was to create a centrepiece with a variety of toys into a movie theme.  The first theme that i have tried out was Halloween and Superman and the end result was "whow"  I even built in battery operated lights around the toy figures just to make it more spooky.  For the Superman theme i made use of a glass cube to represent the building effect an lit the superman figure from underneath with an LED light.  I attached a few "smokkel blokkies" as i called the coloured cubes to the sides with a few mini mirror balls just to make it more attractive.  The challenge did get more intense when the other toys was delivered to me and i think i am just posting the pictures to tell the story.
